What these numbers mean
A value around 1.348 index is typical (50th percentile) for females in this age group. The middle 50% of the reference population fall between about 1.286 index and 1.409 index; values below or above that central range sit in the lower or upper half of the distribution.
These are US population percentiles pooled across NHANES survey periods from 2015 through 2023. They describe how a value ranks within the same sex and age bracket; they are not diagnostic cut-offs.
