1.5-Mile Run (Cooper): Males, Age 40-49

The 1.5-mile (2.4 km) run test measures aerobic endurance by timing how long it takes to complete the distance at maximal effort. Data are from Physical Fitness Assessments and Norms for Adults and Law Enforcement (Cooper Institute, Dallas TX), widely used by US police departments, the FBI, and military branches. Because the source population is law enforcement candidates, likely fitter than the general public. These norms may be faster than population-wide averages. This test is also known as the 2.4 km run test.
